STEM+M AT ST. LUKE'S
Featuring: CAPSTONE PRESENTATIONS
The twelfth annual Biomedical Capstone recently occurred. Each year, our senior students who have completed the entire Biomed program give an insightful presentation concerning something of profound interest to them from their chosen field of study. The audience included their peers, family, mentors, several faculty from area colleges, medical professionals from throughout the area, and a visiting school from Jackson, Mississippi, where we are helping implement a similar Biomed program.
The topics were diverse and intriguing. They explained complex concepts in easily understandable language. For instance, we learned about a new spray-on skin for burn treatments and that USA and UAB are among the few burn centers conducting clinical trials. One student explained the principles of medical ethics as it applies to treating ADHD. Others offered guidance to the audience in the areas of choosing clear aligners or traditional braces, as well as the importance of understanding the adverse side effects of drug interactions. We even learned about new artificial intelligence (AI) technology that is being used in the field of radiology.
Once again, our students have demonstrated their exceptional abilities and dedication to their studies. They represented themselves, the Biomed program, and our school with professionalism and competence. We are immensely proud of their achievements and eagerly anticipate their return as alumni, where they can share their experiences and continue to inspire future generations.

THEATRE DEPARTMENT CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR & LOOKS FORWARD TO WHAT'S NEXT!
After months of preparation with long, late-night practices, the lights finally dim. The audience settles. The curtains rise, and the story comes to life. MANY people make the show go on….directors, choreographers, actors, tech, lighting, music, etc. Theatre is a medium of art that requires MANY talented and dedicated people to truly entertain their audience. And St. Luke's theatre department deserves to celebrate because they knocked it out of the park ALL YEAR!
The theatre department enjoyed an end-of-the-year banquet with dinner, awards, and a thrilling announcement to honor our talented and dedicated students. The students were on the edge of their seats as next year’s spring musical was revealed, sparking excitement and anticipation.
We can’t wait!

ST. LUKE'S 5th GRADE BRINGS HISTORY TO LIFE
The annual 5th Grade Wax Museum was fantastic! It was as if history’s most famous people came to St. Luke’s to recall their stories and accomplishments! Students researched and dressed up as their historical figures, stood frozen until someone “pressed the button,” and gave their speech before returning to being frozen again. We always look forward to this event because it is the perfect unique blend of education and entertainment as the 5th grade showcases their creativity and understanding of historical figures and events.
