enior Anna Marie Bentley was selected to be an Entrepreneurship & Small Business Startup Intern for the 2021-2022 school year. Anna Marie has been a Wildcat at St. Luke’s for 15-years, earning many accolades for her scholastic and athletic achievements along the way. In addition to her internship, Anna Marie is a varsity athlete on the tennis team and the cross country team. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, and is finishing her final year in the Biomedical Science program.
Through her internship, Anna Marie hopes to gain business and marketing skills, despite plans to study nursing this fall at Birmingham Southern College. She understands that the business skills learned will help her beyond her days at St. Luke’s. Interns spend time working on skills such as budgeting, merchandising, and marketing; all transferrable skills that will prove invaluable to any career journey.
This Entrepreneurship & Small Business Startup Internship at St. Luke's was made available to select junior and senior ambassadors through an application process. The main goal is to provide students with a chance to gain skills in teamwork, organization, accountability, and problem-solving in a real-world application. Interns are immersed in a world of business, helping grow their knowledge of business. Students are encouraged to actively share ideas and feedback and apply the concepts they've learned in the classroom to real-world experiences. They not only help resumes stand out to admissions committees and future employers, but they also demonstrate that our students are spending time learning and working with others.
An internship is the best way to be immersed in a real-world environment with hands-on experiences. St. Luke's is blessed to provide Anna Marie with this experience to help her further develop knowledge that will be beneficial in college and life.
