W
e are honored that you have chosen us to be part of your child’s educational journey. As a mission driven school, we live the values we have defined in our mission statement. No doubt, you in part chose us for our strong college preparatory academics that begin with our youngest Wildcats. However, equally embedded in our days and events are opportunities to model and teach honor, faith, and integrity. For many of you, this is the beginning of the most important journey you will travel with your child and family. We endeavor to partner with our Japonica families to help create a meaningful and fulfilling educational journey.

At the heart of that partnership is our Lower School Director, Mrs. Meredith Evans. A dedicated educator and experienced instructional leader, Mrs. Evans brings a passion for student success and a deep commitment to fostering a joyful, engaging learning environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for cultivating strong relationships, supporting academic excellence, and creating school communities where students, faculty, and families thrive together.

A Mobile native, Mrs. Evans earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Library Media, and K–12 Instructional Leadership certification from the University of South Alabama. Her experience as a Preschool Director, Pre-K, 1st Grade and 3rd Grade teacher, School Media Specialist, and Assistant Principal has given her a comprehensive understanding of child development, curriculum, and instructional leadership, preparing her to lead our youngest learners with both knowledge and compassion.

Mrs. Evans believes that the foundation for lifelong learning is built through meaningful relationships, high expectations, and strong partnerships between school and home. Under her leadership, the Lower School continues to be a place where curiosity is nurtured, character is formed, and every child is inspired to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Her dedication to educational excellence and wholehearted commitment to the mission of St. Luke’s ensure that each student begins their journey with the confidence, support, and encouragement needed to flourish.
