More Than a Student.
T
his year, St. Luke’s created a new Entrepreneurship and Small Business Start Up internship available to junior and senior student ambassadors through an application process. The main goal of this internship is to provide our students with a chance to gain skills in teamwork, organization, accountability, and problem solving in a real world application. Interns will spend time working on skills that will be invaluable
in their future.
Sophia Abel is a senior and has been a student at St. Luke’s for the past 4-years. As an Entrepreneurship and Small Business intern, Sophia hopes to become more versed in the realities of owning and operating a small business. She also has plans to use her internship experience to dive deeper into the financial aspect of entrepreneurship. Next fall, Sophia hopes to be in college somewhere in the north and studying finance. When asked where she sees herself in 5 years Sophia says, “I hope to be freshly graduated from college, living in the city with a well-paying job. I want to be traveling and enjoying life to its fullest!”
An internship is the best way to be immersed in a real-world environment, nothing can replace hands-on experiences. We are blessed to provide Sophia with this experience to help her further develop knowledge that will be beneficial in college and life.
