More Than An Alumnus.
In honor of #InternationalDayofEducation, we asked St. Luke's alumnus Mr. Lee Banks, to tell us how his St. Luke’s education shaped him.
St. Luke's: How did your education at St. Luke’s shape you?
Lee Banks: My St. Luke’s education shaped who I am today by teaching me how to persevere, the meaning and application of teamwork, and to keep God at the center of my life. Many things have changed since my 8th grade graduation from St. Luke’s, many things remain the same, especially the focus on mind, body, and spirit.
Academics were a priority and quite challenging. I may not have found myself on the honor roll all the time (ha!), but the teachers pushed me to be my best.
St. Luke’s provided an environment for everyone to be involved with athletics and to experience working together toward a goal. I’ll never forget when we won the 8th grade volleyball championship. It was a big deal to beat all of the other private schools in Mobile.
Although I didn’t appreciate dressing up for chapel at the time, attending each week kept my focus in the right place.
SL:   What are you doing now?
LB:   Currently, I am a Vice President for Private Banking at Trustmark Bank.
SL:   What are your future plans?
LB:   I’m not sure what the future holds. But, my son, Brantley, loves and plays all sports and my daughter, Maddie, is on the cheer squad and tennis team. I see a lot of St. Luke’s athletic events in my future!
Go Wildcats!
Thanks Lee!   We are so excited to see what the future holds for second generation Wildcats Maddie and Brantley!
