POSITION SUMMARY
Our mission at St. Luke’s Episcopal School is to present a college preparatory community developing young men and women of honor, faith, and responsibility with character and intellect to thrive in college and life. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Spanish teacher to partner in our mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach students the Spanish language, including grammar and vocabulary
- Design curriculum lesson plans.
- Assign coursework and administer assessments.
- Grade assignments and assessments in a timely manner.
- Follow all school policies,
- Ensure that the classroom remains conducive to learning.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish with both oral and written skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Classroom experience preferred but not required.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during portions of the work day.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Activities include walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, pulling, finger dexterity, grasping, pushing, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Frequent moving of small stacks of papers, textbooks, and office equipment.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
SCHEDULE
Regular hours shall be 7:30 am until 3:30 pm, including, but not limited to, additional hours as needed for meetings, appointments, appearances, and overnight travel to events.
