POSITION SUMMARY

Our mission at St. Luke’s Episcopal School is to present a college preparatory community developing young men and women of honor, faith, and responsibility with character and intellect to thrive in college and life. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Spanish teacher to partner in our mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach students the Spanish language, including grammar and vocabulary
  • Design curriculum lesson plans.
  • Assign coursework and administer assessments.
  • Grade assignments and assessments in a timely manner.
  • Follow all school policies,
  • Ensure that the classroom remains conducive to learning.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish with both oral and written skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Classroom experience preferred but not required.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during portions of the work day.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Activities include walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, pulling, finger dexterity, grasping, pushing, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequent moving of small stacks of papers, textbooks, and office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.


SCHEDULE

Regular hours shall be 7:30 am until 3:30 pm, including, but not limited to, additional hours as needed for meetings, appointments, appearances, and overnight travel to events.
