More Than A School: A Family Tradition

Hear from Brooke Wooden, St. Luke’s Alumni and current parent:

“Watching my two boys experience St. Luke’s School is one of the most meaningful full-circle moments of my life. I attended St. Luke’s from Pre-K through eighth grade, back when it was only a lower school. This community was such an important part of my own childhood, and now I have the privilege of watching my children create their own memories here.

When my husband and I began looking at schools for our oldest son’s kindergarten year, St. Luke’s was our first stop. Walking through those red doors again after all these years felt like coming home, especially when Mrs. Sandy greeted us with her familiar, warm smile. As we walked around the campus and ran into several of my former teachers, I was flooded with happiness and so many fond memories.

When we got into the car after our tour, my husband looked at me and asked, “We aren’t looking at any other schools, are we?” With happy tears welling up in my eyes, I turned to him and simply said, “Nope!”

The strong sense of community, constant encouragement, and deep feeling of belonging are just a few of the qualities I valued most during my own time at St. Luke’s. It is incredibly special to see those exact same qualities woven into my children’s experiences today. I am so grateful that my boys get to know St. Luke’s not just as the place their mom once went, but as a place that is actively helping shape their own story.

My husband and I continue to choose St. Luke’s because we believe in the lasting value of a St. Luke’s education, and because it has truly become a home for our entire family. It is a place where we feel known and welcomed, and where our children are valued, supported, and encouraged to become the best versions of themselves.”

We are so grateful for alumni and parents like Brooke who continue to choose St. Luke’s!
