The Varsity Volleyball Team recently held a fundraiser, a youth camp for the future Wildcats, at the Japonica Campus. This meant that children from first grade to sixth grade would attend an hour-and-a-half-long camp at the end of the day. The Varsity Volleyball Team volunteered to set up the camp and attend as coaches. Each day one of the coaches would partner with one or two of the participating Wildcats.
This also presented a chance for the older Wildcat athletes to spend time with the future of their sport. Mentoring the younger generation of players is something that the varsity team does every year and means a great deal to the team and the younger generations. It is easy to say that the future of the St. Luke’s Volleyball Team rests in capable hands. These Wildcats showed extraordinary determination in learning how to improve their existing skills. Everyone had so much fun including the following participants: Ayda Johns, Jennie Colson, and Raegan Adlington. These three girls showed not only determination but an undeniable interest in the sport of volleyball.
