Mrs. Amber Miniard is a 2nd grade teacher on the Japonica Campus.

More Than A Teacher.

M
y name is Amber Miniard and I was born and raised in Mobile, AL. Prior to becoming a teacher, I had the privilege of serving in the United States Air Force for almost 7 years. While in the Air Force I lived in Northern California and Southern Mississippi. I met my wonderful husband Josh after moving back to Mobile and we have been married for 5 years. We have one daughter and a Miniature Schnauzer who is like a second child.

During my free time I love spending time with my family and friends traveling and exploring new places. I also enjoy crafting, reading a good book, and cooking.

During my time in the Air Force I was able to travel to many different places. Over seven years I traveled to five of the seven continents and met many different people along the way. One place that I traveled to that I will never forget is Wake Island. There is so much history on such a small island!

From the first time I walked on the Japonica Campus, I fell in love with the warm atmosphere and the sense of community. The smaller class sizes allow me to teach effectively, to give my students the individual attention which they deserve, and to accomplish the goals which have been entrusted to me. Another reason that I love teaching at SLES are the many different traditions that are celebrated every year. These types of traditions help celebrate the school's core values and instill a sense of community spirit and pride in the staff and the students. These are only a couple of reasons that I am excited to be a Wildcat!
